Print and sign shops sit close to new and growing local businesses. A customer comes in for business cards, a storefront sign or vehicle lettering and quietly mentions they do not have a website. That is a natural moment to offer one without becoming a web studio yourself.
You already hold half of what a site needs: the logo file, the brand colors and often a sense of what the business is about. That makes you a sensible starting point for the website conversation.
How the arrangement works
You tell your customers you can arrange a website, and we do the building. It is inquiry only: a short form about your shop, and then we call you. On that call we talk through how you would pass customers over, what you want to say to them and how you stay informed.
We do not publish partner rates, margins or commissions here. Terms depend on how you want to work, and we discuss them by call.
Where the offer fits
- ✓New signage customers — they need a web address to print
- ✓Business card orders — cards point to a site that works
- ✓Vehicle wraps — a name and address on the van needs a destination
- ✓Event banners — a page for details and contact
The web address problem at proof stage
Shops see this constantly. A proof goes out with a website line on it, and the customer replies that the domain is not set up yet, or that the address they gave belongs to an old site that no longer loads. Then either the job waits or it gets printed with no web address at all, and a van drives around for years pointing nowhere.
Raising the website before the proof is approved avoids that. If the customer has no site yet, the domain can be chosen and the site planned so the address on the print is real when the job ships.
Questions to ask at the counter
- ✓Do you own a web address yet — and who registered it
- ✓Where should the sign send people — a site, a booking link or a quote form
- ✓Is your current site still accurate — services, hours and location
- ✓Can we use your logo file on a site — the same source you supplied for print
Keep the print and the site aligned
One practical benefit is consistency. The logo, colors and wording on the sign can match the site, because both come from the same brief. We ask customers for their logo and photos and write the copy for them.
Customers approve the site before it goes live, and their domain stays theirs. Managed hosting and small edits continue afterwards.
How the counter conversation can sound
It does not need a sales script. Something like "Before we print the website on this, is the site ready? If not, we work with a team that builds them, writes the wording and hosts it" is enough. If the customer is interested, you pass them along the way we agreed. If not, nothing changes about the print job.
We can also suggest a short line for your order form or quote sheet so customers see the option without you having to bring it up each time.
