Who we are and what this covers
Cheap Cheap Websites.com ("we", "us") builds and manages websites for small businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect through cheapcheapwebsites.com, our forms, our free tools and our checkout, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
It does not cover websites we build for our customers. Each customer decides what its own website collects from its visitors and is responsible for its own privacy notice; we can help draft one, but the customer approves it.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you ask for a website or a callback, we collect your name, email address, phone number and anything you write about your business. During a project you may also send us your business details, logo, photos, text and account access that you choose to share.
Where your request came from. When you submit our request form, we record the page you were on before the form, the button you clicked and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source). We use this to understand which pages help people, not to follow you around the web.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Square. Your card details go directly to Square and are never stored on our servers. We receive the order details we need, such as your name, email, the plan you bought and the payment status.
Technical information. Like most websites, our servers and our security provider record basic technical data when you visit or submit a form, such as your IP address, browser type, the date and time and the page requested. We use it to keep the site running, block spam and abuse, and fix problems.
Our free tools. Our calculators, checklists and generators run in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us. Some tools save your progress in your own browser storage so you can come back later; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
How we use your information
We use your information to reply to your request, prepare a quote, build and manage your website, process payments, provide Website Care and any optional services you choose, send messages about your project and account, improve our pages and forms, prevent fraud and spam, and meet legal and accounting obligations.
We only send marketing emails if you have asked for them or if the law allows it for an existing customer, and every marketing email lets you opt out. Project and billing messages are not marketing and continue while you are a customer.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for cross-site targeted advertising. We do not run advertising or analytics cookies on this website at the time of this update. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Who we share information with
Service providers that help us run the business and only use the information to provide their service to us: our web hosting provider, our content delivery and security network, our email provider that delivers form submissions and project messages, and Square for payments.
Business Spotlight. If you buy a Business Spotlight article, the business information you give us for that article is published on The Company Chronicle, labeled as paid. We only publish what you approve.
Domain and website services needed for your project, such as a domain registrar. Registrars may be required to collect registration details under domain-industry rules.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
Business changes. If our business is sold or merged, customer information may transfer to the new owner under this policy or one at least as protective.
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use advertising cookies. Our security and content delivery provider may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots and attacks. Our free tools may use your browser's local storage to remember your answers on your own device. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser; the site will still work, although a tool may forget your progress.
How long we keep information
We keep request and project information for as long as we need it to respond to you, deliver and support your website, and keep business, tax and accounting records. Inquiries that do not become projects are deleted when we no longer need them to follow up. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, subject to records we must keep by law.
How we protect information
Our site uses HTTPS encryption. Submitted requests are stored in private locations that are not publicly accessible, and access to customer accounts is limited to the people who need it for your project. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to protect your information and fix issues promptly.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you marketing. Depending on where you live, including in states such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others with consumer privacy laws, you may have additional rights such as data portability and the right to appeal a decision about your request. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email us at sales@cheapcheapwebsites.com with the subject "Privacy request". We will verify the request before acting on it and respond within the time required by applicable law. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission.
Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. We will post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date, and for material changes we will give additional notice where appropriate.
