A request to a notary usually begins with three questions: can you come to me, how soon, and what do I need? When the answers sit on a page, you stop repeating them. The visitor sees your area, your typical turnaround and a list of what to have in hand, then sends a request with the details you need to say yes.
Answer the three questions first
Put your service area near the top, as towns or neighborhoods. Add how quickly you usually respond and whether you take evenings or weekends. People with a deadline will read exactly that and nothing else.
Below it, list what you offer, such as general signings, loan signings or mobile visits. Say plainly what you cannot do. For instance, a notary cannot give legal advice or draft documents, and stating it prevents misunderstandings.
What a signer should have ready
- ✓Valid photo ID — the signer needs it present at the signing
- ✓The unsigned document — do not sign it beforehand
- ✓All signers present — everyone named must attend
- ✓Witnesses if required — ask the requester what the document needs
A request form that saves calls
Ask for the type of document, number of signers, location, preferred time and urgency. With that, you can reply with a time and a fee in one message. A short, mobile friendly form beats a long one for someone typing on a small screen in a hospital hallway.
If you offer fixed appointment slots for office visits, a calendar can handle those, while mobile requests come through the form so you can plan travel.
What we set up
- ✓Request form — short, with the fields you need
- ✓Service area page — towns and travel notes
- ✓What to bring — a clear list you can point clients to
- ✓Calendar — optional, for office or fixed-time visits
Busy periods
Month-end closings and the home-buying months bring many loan signings. A short note about same-day availability, with the cutoff time, sets expectations before anyone sends a request.
What to expect, honestly
- ✓We do not give legal guidance — the page lists services and what to bring, nothing more
- ✓Fees are set by you and local rules — we place what you tell us
- ✓Provider fees are separate — payment and booking tools charge their own rates
