A chimney sweep does best launching in late spring or summer, well before the first cold snap, so the site is already working when homeowners remember the fireplace in September. Before writing starts, list the fuel types you handle, the towns your truck reaches and what each inspection level covers. Those three answers decide what the request form asks and which questions stop arriving by phone.
How the launch unfolds
Day 1-2: You send services, fuel types, towns and photos, and we decide how the sweeping and repairs pages divide the work.
Week 1: We write those two pages, and you check technical terms such as flue tiles, smoke chamber and creosote glaze for accuracy.
Week 2: We build the gallery and a request form that asks for fuel type, appliance and the month the homeowner hopes for, then test it on a phone.
Launch: After your sign-off the site goes live; a 48-hour launch is possible for eligible projects with content ready.
What to gather before you start
- ✓Sweep and inspection descriptions — what a routine sweep includes and what changes for a camera inspection or a home-sale inspection, in plain words
- ✓Fuel and appliance list — open fireplaces, wood stoves, inserts, pellet stoves, gas logs or oil flues, so homeowners know you service theirs
- ✓Repair menu — caps, crowns, dampers, flashing, relining and dryer vents if you offer them
- ✓Service towns — the places you cover and any areas you visit only on certain days
- ✓Job photos — soot-free hearths, new caps and rebuilt crowns, ideally paired with a before shot
The first month after launch
In the first month, photograph each job you are proud of and add a few to the gallery. By late summer, put a short "book before the first fire" note on the home page and take it down once your fall calendar is full. Ask happy homeowners to leave a review on the platform they already use, and list any new towns you start serving.
Mistakes to avoid at launch
- ✓Never explaining inspection levels — homeowners buying or selling a house call around to find out what they need
- ✓Waiting until October to publish — the fall calendar fills from sweeps whose sites were already up
- ✓Skipping job photos — nothing shows that you leave the living room cleaner than you found it
